Nyale Yanga is responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership in coordinating timely legal and financial review of applications for licensing, no objection request, issue of securities, corporate actions among others to ensure compliance with the Capital Markets Legal and Regulatory Framework.
He has over 14 years’ experience in capital markets having worked in various capacities at the Authority. He has championed the automation of submitting financial statements of market intermediaries to the Authority, participated in developing the risk-based supervision model and risk-based capital adequacy regime for licensees. He is also charged with implementing bonds market reforms as part of the ten-year Kenyan Capital Markets Master Plan.
Nyale is the alternate chair of the Capital Markets Authority Sandbox Review Committee. He also chairs the Market Supervision and Risk Management Committee of the East Africa Securities Regulators Authorities and the Financial Services Technical Committee of Kenya Bureau of Standards as well as sits in the registration committee of the Institute of Certified Investments and Financial Analysts.
Nyale has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) both from The University of Nairobi. He has a Post Graduate Certificate in Capital Markets Development from The George Washington University (USA). He a fellow of the IFC-Milken Institute, a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Secretary.
