The Capital Markets Authority is cognizant of the fact that enhancement of public education and awareness about capital markets is an important part of its mandate. We hold the view that an educated investor is a protected investor and that a protected investor is always a more willing player in the capital market place. To us, investor education is one of the most effective regulatory tools. We are therefore making a deliberate effort to progress investor education to another level with a view to addressing the prevailing low financial literacy and the resultant ‘herd mentality’ in financial products selection among some sections of the Kenyan public.

The idea is to create a forum for the exchange of ideas and information among experts, practitioners and the investing public. We seek to develop a dialogue that will assist both existing and potential investors to have a better understanding of capital markets with an aim of improving the volume, diversity and depth of engagement within capital markets in Kenya.

This website gives you, an insight into various aspects of the capital markets industry in Kenya; you will find our brochures; our handbook; a Glossary of Commonly Used Terms; our newsletter among other useful items that introduce you to Kenya's Capital Markets.
